Problem
Advocates in Maharashtra's district courts track dozens of matters by reading daily cause lists, often PDFs posted late the evening before, and a missed listing can mean a dismissal for non-prosecution. Juniors spend the first two hours of each day going through cause lists and photocopied orders, many in Marathi, to work out which matters moved and why.
Solution
Tareekh pulls the published cause lists and orders each evening, matches them to each advocate's matters, and sends a summary by 9 pm with courtroom, item number and the last order in two lines. It reads Marathi and English orders, drafts a one-page brief of each case's hearing history, and flags matters likely to be called early in the day.
Target market
India has well over a million enrolled advocates, most in small chambers outside the metros; we start with the roughly 90,000 practising in Maharashtra's district and taluka courts.
Business model
Free for individual advocates with up to 20 matters, ₹799 a month for unlimited matters and briefs, and chamber plans at ₹4,500 a month for up to ten lawyers.
