Problem
Secondary school teachers in Bangladesh often teach classes of 60 to 80 students and mark every test by hand, so a single exam can take two weekends. Feedback comes back weeks later as one number, and students never see which step of a long answer went wrong. Coaching centres preparing students for board exams face the same problem with weekly mock tests.
Solution
Teachers photograph answer scripts with a phone; Porikkha reads handwritten Bangla and English, including equations and diagrams, and marks each step against the teacher's rubric. Uncertain answers go to the teacher for a quick check, and every student gets a printed or SMS summary of the steps they missed. Class reports show which topics need re-teaching before the next test.
Target market
Private schools, madrasas teaching the general curriculum and coaching centres in Bangladesh, roughly 30,000 institutions, with West Bengal and Nepal as the next markets.
Business model
Per-student annual subscription (BDT 250–400) sold to schools and coaching centres, plus a free teacher tier capped at 100 scripts a month.
