Review guidelines
Reviews on Hatchbase are open and honest. These rules keep them useful for everyone deciding which AI companies to talk to.
Who can review
- Anyone with a confirmed Hatchbase account, as a customer, investor or industry observer.
- Founders can review other companies, never their own.
- One review per person per company. You can edit yours any time.
- If you attended a demo through Hatchbase, your review shows a Verified demo badge.
What makes a good review
- Your own, first-hand experience: what you used or saw, what worked and what didn't.
- Specific and fair. Criticism is welcome; insults and personal attacks aren't.
- Up to 2,000 characters, with an honest overall rating and optional scores for product, team and potential.
- Disclose any relationship. Don't review a company you work for, advise, compete with or have undisclosed money in.
What we hold or remove
- Links, advertising and referral codes.
- Profanity, harassment or anything abusive.
- Copied or repeated text, and bursts of reviews from brand-new accounts.
- Reviews that aren't based on a real experience with the company.
How moderation works
- Reviews go live straight away, unless an automatic check holds one for a quick look by our team.
- Anyone can report a review. After 3 reports, or a flag from the company's founder, a moderator checks it.
- Moderators keep, hide or remove a review, and record why. Founders can reply publicly but can't edit or delete reviews.
- A company's rating is the average of its visible reviews, shown once it has at least 3.
